About MultiPods Audio
MultiPods Audio lets two or more people share what's playing on the same Mac through their own Bluetooth headphones — each with an independent volume slider.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
Movie night without the babysitter. Late shifts without waking your roommate. A long flight where the Wi-Fi is yours but the audio jack is anyone's. MultiPods Audio turns one Mac into a private listening room for two, three, or more.
Each pair of AirPods, Beats, or Bluetooth headphones gets its own volume slider in the menu bar. Crank yours up; let your partner keep theirs low. The Mac sends the same audio to everyone at the same time — Netflix, Apple Music, YouTube, FaceTime, anything that comes out of the speakers.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Pair each headphone to your Mac in System Settings (one-time setup per device).
2. Click the MultiPods Audio menu-bar icon and pick which headphones should share the audio.
3. Press Start. Your apps now play through every selected headphone simultaneously.
4. Drag each slider to set per-person volume.
5. Press Stop when you're done — your previous output device is restored automatically.
NO DRIVERS, NO HACKS, NO ADMIN PASSWORD
MultiPods Audio uses only Apple's public CoreAudio APIs — the same ones macOS itself uses to manage your speakers and headphones. There is no kernel extension, no audio driver to install, no admin password to type. The app is fully sandboxed and never touches your microphone or other apps' audio streams.
DESIGNED FOR THE MENU BAR
MultiPods Audio lives quietly in the menu bar. No Dock icon, no main window, no notifications. Open it when you want to start a session, close it when you're done. It uses essentially zero CPU when idle, and it keeps your Mac awake during a session so a movie never pauses on you.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
• AirPods volume is sometimes read-only via CoreAudio (Apple routes it through AVRCP). When that happens, the app shows an "Adjust on device" hint instead of a dead slider — you can still use the volume controls on the AirPods themselves.
• While a session is running, the macOS volume keys on your keyboard temporarily stop working. That is exactly why MultiPods Audio gives every headphone its own slider in the menu bar.
• Bluetooth audio between dissimilar devices may drift slightly. The app applies drift compensation automatically; if you still hear a small offset, the Advanced section lets you nudge each device's latency in milliseconds.
• macOS may downgrade the Bluetooth codec to SBC when several BT headphones are connected at once. That is a Bluetooth limitation, not an app bug.
PRIVACY
MultiPods Audio sends nothing to the network. It does not record audio. It does not analyze what you are listening to. Everything happens locally on your Mac.

THE STORY BEHIND IT
This app exists because the developer wanted to watch a movie with their partner without waking the baby in the same room. One Mac, two pairs of AirPods, one quiet evening. We hope it gives you a few of those.
