PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy Policy for Psalms Praylist
Last Updated: July 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, disclosed, and safeguarded when you use the Psalms Praylist App (\"the App\"). By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Information Collected
The following types of information are collected through your use of the App:
1.1 Personal Information
Prayer List Names: When you add a name to the prayer list, the name, mother\'s name, gender, category (Health, Prosperity, Match, or Remembrance), whether the name is in Hebrew, and the duration selected for the listing are collected. This information is stored in Apple\'s CloudKit service and is visible to other users of the App, as confirmed when you give consent before adding a name.
Device Information: A unique device identifier provided by Apple (identifierForVendor) is collected to link the names you add to your device, allowing you to manage or delete them later.
Notification Preferences: If you enable daily reminders in the Settings section, your preference and the selected time are stored locally on your device.
1.2 Information Stored Only on Your Device
Your reading activity and preferences never leave your device and are not transmitted to us or to any third party. This includes which Psalms you have read, your reading progress and statistics, your favorite chapters, and your settings (language, text size, and light/dark appearance). Deleting the App removes this information permanently.
1.3 Payment Information
Payments for adding names to the prayer list are handled through Apple\'s In-App Purchase system. Payment details, such as credit card information, are not collected, seen, or stored by us. All payment processing is managed by Apple, and their privacy policies apply to payment-related data.
How Information Is Used
The collected information is used for the following purposes:
To Provide the Prayer List Service: Names and details you submit are stored to display on the public prayer list and to allow you to manage your entries (e.g., delete them from the My Added Names section).
To Personalize Your Experience: Your settings, such as language preference, text size, and light/dark mode, are saved on your device to customize your experience.
To Send Notifications: If you enable daily reminders, your selected time is used to schedule local notifications reminding you to read a Psalm.
To Ensure Compliance: Names added to the prayer list are reviewed to ensure they meet the Terms of Service, and offensive or inappropriate names are removed without refund.
How Information Is Shared
Public Prayer List: The name, mother\'s name, gender, category, and expiration date you submit are visible to other users of the App, as confirmed when adding a name. You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to share this information publicly.
Apple CloudKit: Prayer list entries are stored in the public database of the App\'s iCloud container using Apple\'s CloudKit service. Apple\'s handling of this data is governed by Apple\'s Privacy Policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. We do not operate our own servers and do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Legal Requirements: Information may be shared if required by law, such as in response to a court order or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the App or its users.
iCloud and Account Information
Adding a name to the prayer list requires your device to be signed in to iCloud, because entries are stored using Apple\'s CloudKit service. Reading the Psalms and viewing the prayer list do not require an iCloud account. We do not receive your Apple Account credentials, name, or email address; the App only checks whether an iCloud account is available so that it can save your submission. The App also receives silent background notifications from CloudKit that are used solely to refresh the prayer list when names are added or removed; these contain no personal content and are not used for marketing.
Data Storage and Security
Storage: Names and related details are stored in Apple\'s CloudKit database. Your settings and reading activity are stored locally on your device.
Security: Data transmitted between your device and Apple\'s CloudKit service is encrypted in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Data Retention: Names remain on the prayer list until their selected duration expires, after which they are automatically removed. You can also manually delete names you added from the My Added Names section at any time.
Your Choices
Deleting Names: You can delete names you added by swiping on them in the prayer list or in the My Added Names section. The ability to delete an entry is tied to the device from which it was added. Names added from a device you no longer use, or added in an earlier version of the App before August 12 2026, may not be removable from within the App; in those cases, contact support at https://tally.so/r/KYNAe8 and the entry will be removed on your behalf.
Notifications: You can turn daily reminders on or off and adjust the reminder time in the Settings section. Turning off notifications cancels all scheduled reminders.
Children\'s Privacy
The App is not intended for individuals under 13. Personal information from children under 13 is not knowingly collected. If such information is collected, it will be deleted promptly.
International Users
The App\'s operator is based in Israel and subject to Israeli law. Prayer list data is stored in Apple\'s CloudKit infrastructure. If you access or use the App from outside Israel, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in jurisdictions where data protection laws may differ from those in your own. By using the App, you consent to this transfer and processing in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Previous Versions
Earlier versions of the App stored prayer list entries using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). As of August 12, the App no longer uses Firebase or any Google service. Existing entries were transferred to Apple CloudKit, and the Firebase database has been deleted.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The updated version will be posted on the website, with the effective date noted at the top. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
